A Philosophy in Every Note

There is a saying in isiNdebele: “Umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu.”

A person becomes a person through other people.

Born in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, Insingizi is a remarkable vocal harmony trio that carries the traditions of mbube and isicathamiya music to audiences across the world.

With only three voices they create a sound so full and layered that listeners often believe they are hearing an entire choir.

Origins

From Bulawayo to the World

In Zimbabwe people say “indawo enhle yenza abantu bahlangane.” A good place brings people together.

For Insingizi that place was Bulawayo, the cultural heartbeat of Matabeleland.

Their harmonies grew from churches, community gatherings, and township performances that shaped their distinctive sound.
